Quality from this manufacturer is not very good. This is the 2d product that I have purchased from them and I don't retrieve there will be a third. The adapter that is used for OEM connexion to seven-way wiring harness did not fit well, and the most important of the connections (backup lights) did not make a connection at all. There was no ability transmitted though the harness for backup lights, which is what powers the photographic camera. I had to go back and remove the OEM connector and splice the fill-in/reverse wire directly to the photographic camera. Very irritating. The company was adept about providing extensions for the camera, as y'all cannot become to the cab of a full size pickup without an extension. Hopefully the camera itself will work ameliorate than the wiring harness.

This is a Christmas gift, so I haven't had a opportunity to view or utilise this device. I accept several trailers and backing up to the hitch means jumping in and out of the truck numerous times. Since my older truck ( 1979 F 150) does not have backup cameras this will exist a peachy addition. The gift is for me and I'm anxiously pending Christmas.

Camera and screen work great. I utilize it use it for hitching up my camer and boat. And i've used for more so just my hitch. It has also been great to employ on the back of our 31' camper, when I adhere it to my bumper. Information technology only takes a couple of times to go the hang of things. Screen is easy to come across and camera has stiff magnetic base, with a good field of view. Glad I got it and accept recommended information technology to friends.

It's an piece of cake install for my contrivance challenger and helps out across words when bankroll up. The install simply took virtually an hour and if your non really looking yous can't tell in that location is a camera there. The wiring was elementary and plenty long enough and the monitor looks like information technology belongs there. I highly recommend this set up.

Initially I liked information technology just out of the box. The app loaded hands and brings up the camera at quite a distance. Withal the longer I ain it the less I like it. Information technology came with merely a USB charge cable despite being marketed with a DC charger shown. The plug for the charger has a rubber plug for weather and it just doesn't want to go in the pigsty, the more than you button the less it goes in. The screen on my phone times out and the picture goes abroad and then I accept to starting time the app once again to reestablish the connection. I'm using information technology as a backup camera to see my trailer from my truck camper and when mounted above the rear door, the view of the trailer is tiny. I would buy a different production next time and this thing was nigh $xxx.

Installed on 2015 Kia Sorento. My particular installation was simple . I new it would be , that is why I chose this production. My backup lights are located on the back door hatch. Removed 3 pocket-size opening covers and exposed the opening to the light wiring and gained access to " fish wire and connector through, without removing paneling. Connections were literally a "snap". All was accomplished within the back door console. The unit of measurement seems to work fine only is lacking corner activation, which is to be expected with merely 2 sensors. My particular application will non sense a small dog even when sensors are pitched lowest possible.( high licence plate). Had to disconnect and reconnect connector with white alignment dots numerous times before unit worked properly. Overall, I would say information technology functions very well . It is very adequate for my needs and at a reasonable price. I Couldn't give it 5 stars because of the connector trouble. How it does in the time to come. but time volition tell .

My wife rode with a friend for lunch who had a new machine with a back-up camera. She was really impressed and was talking about buying a new car to replace her 2011 Ford Escape that would have the backup camera. I found a video showing how to install the camera on an Escape by etrailer. I was impressed by the visitor and bought a unit. Information technology arrived quickly and I was able to install it following the instructions I had watched. It took me a couple of hours to install, the hardest part existence line-fishing the cables to the rear of the machine. One time installed information technology worked nifty. My wife is very, very happy with the install. She says she is much more confident in parking her auto. Cheers a lot. I would, and do recommend etrailer and the back up camera kit.

I bought this because my daughter and I had both backed the truck into the camper parked in the driveway. So far, information technology has worked for its purpose. It does not piece of work too equally the mill setup in my Ford Escape. The chief trouble is seeing the paradigm in the rear view mirror when the sun is bright. I also need to put on my reading glasses to run into the epitome clearly (if I could drive with the seat back another iii inches I would be fine). The auto-dim feature of the mirror works great. Afterwards the initial install, I moved the photographic camera from over top of the license plate to the lesser of the bumper beside of the hitch receiver, having cut a notch in some of the plastic trim so it would not block the view. That was a huge improvement. When installing on a mid 2000s Ford Superduty, there are some proficient videos online for removal of the A-pillar trim and take hold of handle. There is a wire under the dash related to PTO functionality that provides power only when the key is switched on that you can use to power the unit. Run the cable to the photographic camera nether the sill plates (these are in the bottom of the door opening) to the back of the cab before exiting to the underside of the truck. Coil the excess wire here and nothing tie it. When having major engine work washed, signal this wire out to the mechanic in case he has to lift the cab to do the work -- at that place will exist plenty extra wire to allow him to do this without disconnecting anything.

The quality of the parts seem adept but the directions to install everything were horrible (essentially none real) and I had to go to [online] to figure out how to remove my manufacturing plant mirror for the new mirror install and the wiring I figured out by trial and error. The photographic camera kit should take included longer screws to supercede the stock screws on the F250 brake calorie-free. The lodge was delayed most a month due to supply concatenation shortages. Once I got got it all together it works well, just disappointed in the instructions and should have provided replacement screws.

The camera is of high quality, as is the rearview mirror and monitor. I did take to return the start mirror because the bracket didn't match my 2013 Ram 1500's windshield mount, even though it was listed as a universal fit. The Ram has a triangular type fitting. I tapped into the contrary light wiring for power. fifty ended up having to supplant the incandescent reverse light bulbs with LED bulbs considering the monitor image flickered badly until I installed the LEDs. I think this was because the BCM (Body Control Module) got dislocated with the boosted power depict. Since then the camera and monitor have worked flawlessly. It provides a peachy view behind the truck, even at night. Because of the placement on the bumper it doesn't take a adept view of the hitch brawl, but I don't tow very frequently. Overall I have been very pleased and feel that the photographic camera is well worth the price.

Installed in a 2013 F150 with no backup warning system. Had the camera professionally installed. The video cablevision was too long but the mechanic rolled the excess upward and naught tied it in the engine compartment so no issues at that place. Camera/rear view works great. Menu system and photographic camera adjustment was easy to do. The three color fill-in grid lines are splendid. Works well in vivid dominicus and quite well in the night with the backup lights. Very much like the split-screen function then I can glance back and forth between the camera and normal mirror. Typically it is sometimes blurry when the road is wet just that is understandable. I would absolutely purchase this product again and highly recommend information technology!

Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty Backup Camera Questions
- Unfortunately, in that location isn't a system uniform with the factory auto dimming mirror from Ford. You can replace the manufacturing plant mirror, but the wiring will even so require running wires and you volition unfortunately lose the factory functionality in gild to upgrade. The system I recommend is the Rear View Safe G-Series Backup Photographic camera Organization - Auto Dimming, # RVS-776718-D. Although this doesn't plug into your factory system, you will still accept the car-dimming available to you lot.

The linked installation video shows this item being mounted on a 2008 model yr but the process will be the same on your truck. The written instructions are linked for yous too. The Hopkins system plugs in to your wiring at the existing 7-way (which remains active) and provides the camera with the reverse lite signal it uses to know you're bankroll upward and need the camera...
view total answer... - For a gooseneck hitch and trailer I call up the best solution would be to utilize the Swift Hitch camera # 04928. You can mount this camera pretty much anywhere and turn it on when needed (it doesn't tap into the vehicle wiring). The base is magnetic so yous could adhere the camera to the gooseneck coupler to line up the truck and trailer perfectly.
view full respond... - If y'all are looking for an observation organisation that uses connectors between the trailer and truck to make connecting/disconnecting easy you'd desire the Rear View Safety Fill-in Camera System with Trailer Tow Quick Connect Kit # RVS-776614-213. This comes with very like shooting fish in a barrel to use connectors between the truck and trailer and since it'southward a wired connection you lot wouldn't have to worry about interference.

But I cannot hope you will non however experience interference...
view total respond... - I sent your message and pictures to the owner of the GCH who makes the photographic camera kit part # 3460009 and he confirmed that you are correct. He stated that no fuse is needed for the camera. Both red wires are to be connected to a keyed accessory circuit which simply has voltage when the vehicle is on and both black wires become grounded.
view total answer... - Have yous checked the wires themselves? I recommend starting at that place to ensure the wiring for the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera # HM50002 is not crimped or damaged in whatsoever manner. It would be unusual for the unit of measurement to just stop working and information technology sounds like it has to be a wiring connection somewhere, or a damaged wire. If you cannot find any consequence with the wiring the unit of measurement will still exist nether its 1-year warranty since you lot mentioned you merely got it a few months ago.
